In 1983, He Daokuan published “An Introduction of a New SubjectCross-Cultural Communication” inForeign Language Teaching(1983.2). In the following years, journals likeForeign Language Teaching and Research,Foreign Language Teachingpublished a series of correlative essays, many of which were compiled into the bookCulture and Communication(Hu Wenzhong,1994) andCulture and Language (Wang Fuxiang, Wu Hanying,FLTRP,1994).
