美 商 吉 的 堡 教 育 集 团Kid Castle Educational Corporation上海吉的堡教育软件开发有限公司附件1-2 Lesson PlanLesson Plan 2002 Teacher: DemonstrationClass: DemoTime: -Lesson: Whats this? Its a (guava) .Applied Vocabulary and Sentence Patterns: guava, ice cream, hamburger, bomb, fast, slow Whats this? Its a Materials required: A soft ball, vocab cards (guava, hamburger, ice cream), some stickers as rewards, Big Steps 1 CD, tape playerWarm Up/Review: 1. Introduce yourself to the students and introduce your CT. Say “Nice to meet you.” When the CT answers, “Nice to meet you, too.” throw the ball to him/her. Repeat this action with the students, encouraging them to answer “Nice to meet you, too.”2. Sing the “Hello Song” with your CT and explain that the children have to find a partner. Then sing the song with the tape and encourage the students to sing along with you and perform the actions.Presentation: 3. Take out the first flashcard (guava) but dont let the students see what it is. Tell them its very yummy and that you want them to guess what it is. Ask them, “Whats this?” then show the flashcard to them by flashing it past very quickly. Do this several times and then assist the children to “complain” that you are showing them too fast. Use this opportunity to teach “fast” and “slow”. When the students dont know the answer, pretend you dont know either and ask your CT, “Whats this?” Introduce the three vocab words in this fashion and review until the students are familiar with the words. Teach the bomb as the last item. 4. Activity: Demonstrate how to do the activity one time with yourself and 1 or 2 CTs. Once you are sure the students understand, you can try it with them. Hand out the flashcards to random students (have them sit in a circle if there are not too many students). Keep the bomb for yourself. Everyone should start singing the “Hello Song”. As the students are singing, they pass the cards and the bomb from student to student. When you say “STOP!”, the students stop passing the items. Everyone ask the students holding the cards, one at a time, “Whats this?”. Encourage the card-holders to answer, “Its a (whatever they are holding).” Leave the bomb till last. The student holding the bomb should answer, “Its a bomb!” Then everyone counts down, “3! 2! 1! BOOOM!”. Encourage that student to pretend to die and fall on the floor, then give him/her a sticker as a reward. Continue the game for a few rounds until the students are familiar with the sentence pattern. 5. Review the vocabulary and sentence pattern one more time with the flashcards.Wrap-up/extension: 6. Teach and sing the “Goodbye song.”Lesson Plan 2002 Teacher: FTClass: Open House DemoTime: -Lesson: “What do you have?” “I have a”Applied Vocabulary and Sentence Patterns: bomb, fast, slow “What do you have?”Materials required: A soft ball, a fake bomb (or bomb flashcard), vocab cards (backpack, camera, video game), some stickers as rewards (remember to reward the students with stickers when they participate), super singing tape, tape playerWarm Up/Review: 1. Play the Be Quiet game. 2. Introduce yourself to the students and introduce your CT. Say “Nice to meet you.” When the CT answers, “Nice to meet you, too.” throw the ball to him/her. Repeat this action with the students, encouraging them to answer “Nice to meet you, too.”3. Sing the “Hello Song” with your CT and explain that the children have to find a partner. Then sing the song with the tape and encourage the students to sing along with you.Presentation: 4. Take out the first flashcard (backpack) but dont let the students see what it is. Tell them that you want them to guess what it is. Have your CT ask you, “What do you have?” Say, “I have a” then show the flashcard to them by flashing it past very quickly. Do this several times and then assist the children to “complain” that you are showing them too fast. Use this opportunity to teach “fast” and “slow”. When the students dont know the answer (because you are showing it too fast), perform some actions to help them guess (pretend to put a backpack on your back and say good by to your mom as you go to school). If they cannot guess even once you have shown them some actions (i.e. none of the students have learnt this word before), then have your CT ask you again, “What do you have?” and then teach the word. Introduce the three vocab words in this fashion and review until the students are familiar with the words. With each new word, encourage the students to ask you, “What do you have?” before you show them the card. Teach the bomb as the last item. 5. Activity: Demonstrate how to do the activity one time with yourself and 1 or 2 CTs. Once you are sure the students understand, you can try it with them.
