It has given her the time to get used to the English way of life and how different everyday English is from the English spoken on the tapes she studied at home. Some foreign students choose to live in student accommodation while others like Xie Lei choose to live with a host family. She finds she can learn more about the culture this way and if she doesnt understand something, she can ask her host family for advice.
