DVCR International Fee Scholarships Scholarship Description DVCR Fee Scholarships are funded through the DVCR Strategic Funds and are available subject to budget availability Fee scholarship rounds will not occur if there are not sufficient funds Fee scholarship rounds will be advertised as follows o Advertised March 1 closing date 28 March 2013 o Advertised June 1 closing date June 29 2013 o Advertised September 1 closing date September 30 2013 When funds are not available and there is no scholarship round this will be advised on the HDR Scholarships website Benefits The scholarship will cover International fees and overseas student health cover for a PhD student for three years only There is no prospect of extension of the scholarship beyond the three years The scholarship will not cover fees for a Foundation Year or for English Language requirements Criteria To be considered for the scholarship in 2012 students will Have been granted candidature in a three year doctoral program at UNE but yet to be enrolled Be an outstanding International applicant Be recommended by their Principal Supervisor supported by the Head of School Be in financial circumstances that warrant the grant of an international fee scholarship How to apply The DVCR International Fee Scholarship will be applied for by Principal Supervisors on behalf of HDR students and it is up to the Principal Supervisor to make the case for the student to be considered Students may not directly apply for the scholarship Principal Supervisors should make a recommendation for the student to receive the fee scholarship and should forward this by email to Research Services HDR Scholarships Officer Ms Donna Otte at dotte une edu au by the closing date of each round Applications will be considered by the DVCR International Fee Scholarship Panel and notifications made as soon as practically possible UNE International Tuition Fee and Stipend Scholarship The UNE International Tuition Fee and Stipend Scholarship UNE ITFSS is funded by the University of New England and provides tuition fees and a living allowance stipend to top quality international candidates who wish to enrol in a research degree at the University The current scholarship round opens on 17 June 2013 and closes on 31 July 2013 Applications are extremely competitive and are assessed on academic merit and research potential The main objectives of the UNE ITFSS are to attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of New England and support Australia s research effort by enhancing research capacity in areas of strategic importance Eligibility To be eligible for UNE ITFSS you must Be an international student commencing full time internal enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research HDR at the University of New England Be a student undertaking study in a subject area identified by the University as within its designated five thematic research priorities Not hold a research qualification regarded to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or if undertaking a Research Master s degree not hold a research qualification regarded to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree Not be receiving other scholarships for which course tuition or a living allowance is being provided Stipend AU 24 653 00 2013 rate per annum tax free for full time internal students paid in fortnightly installments Maximum Duration Three years full time for a doctoral degree two years for a research Master s degree How to Apply Applications are only accepted during advertised Scholarship Round dates The current round opens on 17 June 2013 and closes on 31 July 2013 To apply please complete the HDR International Scholarship Application Form Please indicate on the form that you are applying for a UNE International Tuition Fee and Stipend Scholarship Detailed instructions are included on the form Please make sure all required documentation is attached or your application may not be considered Referee Reports All applicants must provide two referee reports The University will not request reports on your behalf Referees must be qualified to speak with knowledge about your work during the qualification most relevant to this application and on your capacity for research If you are also basing this application on relevant work experience training at least one of your referees must be able to comment on your relevant experience You must also provide contact details of your referees on this application form and ask them
