课时作业(六)必修Unit 1Cultural relics.阅读理解A2019郑州摸底 If youre on the hunt for something new and interesting to read, you have plenty of places to go. This week, were looking at four of the best book recommendation sites, based on your nominations (提名)GoodreadsGoodreads is more than just a book recommendation site, although it excels at helping you find new books to read based on the ones you enjoy. You can build a virtual “shelf” of books you own or have already read, share your progress with the books youre currently reading, rate the books youve read, leave reviews, and connect with other readers.BookBubWhile BookBub isnt strictly a book recommendation site, it does bring you superlow cost books based on your interests every day. The service is free, and when you sign up, you tell BookBub what kinds of books you like to read. From there, youll get an email from BookBub every day with book deals for that day. When we say “deal”, we mean it many of BookBubs titles are free entirely, $0.99, or just a couple of bucks.LibraryThingLibraryThing has been around for a long time and is still a great userpowered book rating, review, and recommendation site. The service calls itself the worlds largest book club, and thats a lot like the overall feel. Once you sign up, youll be encouraged to start adding books youve read and leave reviews for them. Behind its book ratings and reviews though, LibraryThing is a powerful tool to catalog and organize your entire book collection.OlmentaIf youre not interested in registering for accounts, adding your own books, or any of that hassle (麻烦), Olmenta can suggest some solid titles to you based on general popularity and the citations of the people behind the site. Its a simple list of book covers that the service thinks you should read, and a few genres you can click on if youre looking for something specific, like business, fiction, theatre, poetry, or nonfiction, among others.体裁:应用文题材:文化生活主题:最佳书籍推荐网站【语篇解读】该文介绍了四个最佳书籍推荐网站。【难句分析】While BookBub isnt strictly a book recommendation site, it does bring you superlow cost books based on your interests every day. 1Which of the following two book recommendation sites ask you to rate and leave reviews?AGoodreads and BookBub.BBookBub and LibraryThing.CLibraryThing and Olmenta.DGoodreads and LibraryThing.答案与解析:D考查细节理解。根据Goodreads部分的最后一句中的“rate the books youve read, leave reviews, and connect with other readers”和LibraryThing部分的最后一句中的“Behind its book ratings and reviews though”可知,Goodreads和LibraryThing都要求读者评价并留下书评,故选D。2Which book recommendation site can help you get superlow cost books?AGoodreads.BBookBub.CLibraryThing. Undoubtedly as one of the strangest of English culture, morris dancing is a form of folk dancing that dates back to the 15th century. If you ever get the opportunity, you really have to see it.Men and women wearing oldfashioned, tattered (破烂的) clothing dance in the street of towns and villages across the country during the holiday periods. Women wear long, frilly (有褶边的) skirts and men wear short trousers with bells attached to them. They dance to traditional folk music which is often played on traditional musical instruments. Some groups carry heavy black sticks with which they bash against each other while they dance. Other groups wave handkerchiefs in the air while they perform. The dances are usually performed near a pub so that when its over, the dancers and audience can sing some traditional folk songs over a pint of beer. The festivities will often continue long into the night, by which point most people are too drunk to think about performing again.Morris dancing is a great English tradition but its facing a big crisis. As the years go by, fewer and fewer young people are joining morris dancing groups. The dancers are getting older and older and eventually, if nothing is done to change this trend, the tradition will die out within the next few decades. If youve ever had the fortune to see morris dancing, you may understand why teenagers arent rushing to
