BOOK2 Unit Five Music 单元综合卷 学校 班级 学生 编稿人:郑丽平 审稿人:林秀芳第一部分 阅读理解A Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the worlds most famous musicians. He produced more than 600 works. What is most unusual about Mozart is that he amazed the world with his musical brilliance(才华) when he was only six years old. Mozart was born in Austria in 1756. It wasnt long before his father noticed Mozarts talent for music. The small boy would listen to his sister Nannerls music lessons, and then try to play along. Mozart learned an entire piece of music by heart when he was only four years old. Mozart and Nannerls father, Leopold, was a violinist and composer(作曲家). Their mother, Anna Maria, came from a family of musicians. Leopold wanted the world to see what brilliant children Mozart and Nannerl were. When Mozart was six and Nannerl was ten, Leopold took them on a European tour. The family traveled for four years. They went to Austria, Hungary, Germany, France, England, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Everywhere they went, the children charmed audiences with their musical abilities. After the tour, the family went back home to Austria. But Mozart and Leopold couldnt stay still for long. Soon they went on another tour, then another. By the time Mozart was sixteen, he was one of the best known musicians in Europe. Royalty(王室成员) asked him to compose operas(歌剧) just for them. As he grew up, people were not quite as amazed at Mozarts talent as they were when he was a child. Mozart made a living by composing music, giving concerts, and teaching, but his music finally fell out of favor with the people of his time. He died at the age of 35, deeply in debt(负债).21. The records we have chosen for you are from classical Western music, Indian music, pop and a Negro spiritual. In this broadcast we shall study the language of music. We shall try to find out how music says what people feel. You will hear a Beethoven piece, a composition(乐曲) for the sitar(锡塔琴), and songs sung by a pop group and some black Americans. It will be natural if you like one more than the others. I shall be trying to explain why they are all good music. The feeling in each of these 4 musical compositions is sadness. You can find sadness in words, in paintings, and in music. The word music comes from the Greek word muse. The Muses were goddesses(女神) of the arts. It is like the spoken language, but uses sounds differently. In the spiritual and the pop song you will hear voices. The words are part of the musical composition. In the other pieces you will hear only the piano or the sitar. I will comment(评论) after each record is played. Music is now heard everywhere, in shops, buses and at home. We shall be trying to find out more about how music works. It is worth making the effort. Only then can we say why one piece of music is good and another is bad.24.The underlined word spiritual in the first paragraph probably means .A. songB. poemC. sentenceD. article25.The first paragraph in this article mainly shows us .A. that music is popular in the worldB. some American songsC. some Beethoven piano piecesD. why people like music26.The English word music looks like the Greek word muse because .A.
