John Amos Comenius, a Moravian bishop, was called the father of modern education for his revolutionary teaching principles. Moravian is located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, right in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, which is a thriving metropolitan area of more than 700,000 residents. Bethlehem is about an hour and a half west of New York City and about an hour north of Philadelphia. Got milk? Well, Charlie Decker does. One of the many notable alumni in Moravian College. The main street campus which is in the center of daily life for all Moravian students, and the Priscilla Payne Hurd Campus in the heart of Bethlehems historic district, which is home to the art and music departments. Students travel the eight blocks between the campuses by college busses. Moravian enrolls about 1600 students from a variety of socioeconomic, religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as from 21 states and more than 10 foreign countries. Tuition and fees for Moravian students run about 28,000 dollars per year, and room and board cost average about 8,000 dollars but can vary slightly depending on their resident hall.
