电子信息工程专业英语实训,目录,第一部分:制作英文简历 第二部分:听读训练 第三部分:面试自我介绍 第四部分:翻译相关电子(产品) 说明,一、制作英文简历,1、How to write the perfect CV For many young people, now is the time of year for job hunting. As everyone knows, CVs are essential for this task. In spite of their importance, though, many people do not put enough time, thought and care into their preparation. To write the best CV you must understand what a CV is. Frist, a CV is a marketing document used to impress prospective employers. It must ,then ,apeal to the reader ,and give them only what they need to know. Second, the term CV comes from the latin “curriculum vitea”,which means “the course of a life”.A CV then ,is a history of yourself, and like all good histories,it should be based on facts. Options and ideas have no place on one.,Four categories must be included in all CVs. (1)personal details This category includes such essential as your name, date of brith, adress and contect details. It may also include your nationality and marital status.,(2)education and qualifications In this section you need to consider what part of your educational history are relevant to the reader. Obviously the university you went to are relevant , as are the qualifications you have or expect to get . You primary and secondary schools ,however, are irrelevant,as they are part of your distance past. It is customary in this section to list the information in reverse date order. This is because your recent studies and qualifications are the most relevant to an employer. Think also about how miuch detail is useful. If the title of your qualification makes what you studies obvious (e.g.in Economic),that is enough. If the title could mislead your employer, however, you should provide a brife explanation of your studies. In this section, you can also include details of your major academic prizes you have won.,(3)work experiences In this section, again put your most recent work at top of the list.As a student, you may not have had any proper jobs yet,but most of you will have got work experience or done voluntary work. You may also have undertaken an activity that mimics the world of work, such as being editor of college newspaper. That can also be mentioned. What you are hoping to demonstrate is that you have done more than simple study during your years of education, and that you have a variety of life experiences.,(4)interests and other skills It is useful to consider this section under three heading: languages, computer skills and interests. Under languagesonly list those that you are confident using at a conversational level-knowing a few words and phases is not enough. Also make clear whether your knowledge is limited to the spoken form . Under computer skills ,list the important programes that you can use competently .Most of you will be also to use word and Excel ,but some of you may have knowledge of specialized sofeware such as Access and PageMaker. In this section also list any serious interests you have .The aim is ,again,to show how well-rounded a person you are. (5)Warning Remember ,a good CVs is clear, organized ,easy to read ,and obove all honest.,2、Sample CV,二、听读训练,Ideas of Home have Changed A great many people, when they speak of home, tend to associate it with a certain atmosphere, certain physical surroundings, and certain emotional attitudes within themselves. This sentimentality toward home is something that has come down to us from the past. Many modern people do not have it, and I think it is a good thing that they do not.,In the old days life was difficult. Enemies could attack you and kill or rob you, and you had little protection against them. People did not live in well-built houses where doors could be locked. They did not have the protection of an organized police force or telephones which could summon the police instantly. How did this influencethe way people felt about home? Small family groups clung tightly together for protection against beasts and against other men. Only the bravest went beyond the small family area. Even in the Middle Ages only the most daring went to lands beyond the sea. The human pursuit of security conditioned men to love their homes. I am sure that this feeling must have been very strong among the early settlers of the United States who were obliged, by famine and oppression, to take the plunge and go to the new land where they knew no one and where they were subject to Indian attack. We can see this even today in the attitudes of minority groups who, because of a feeling of insecurity, still preserve cohesive family ties.,Today, thanks to modern transportation and well-organized societies, thousands of people willingly and eagerly leave the surroundings where they were born, and the more often they do so, the less sentiment they are likely to have for those surroundings. I lived in England for three years, and I noticed that boys and girls left their parents homes and lived in dwellings of their ow
