2016-2017年度高二期末英语试题第一部分 阅读理解(共40分,每小题2分)阅读下面短文,从每题所给的四个选项中,选出最佳选项。A第1页高二英语试卷共8页When I was nine years old, I loved to go fishing with my dad. But the only thing that wasnt very fun about it was that he could catch many fish while I couldnt catch anything. I usually got pretty upset and kept asking him why. He always answered, “Son, if you want to catch a fish, you have to think like a fish”, I remember being even more upset then because, “Im not a fish!” I didnt know how to think like a fish. Besides, I reasoned, how could what I think influence what a fish does?As I got a little older I began to understand what my dad really meant. So, I read some books on fish. And I even joined the local fishing club and started attending the monthly meetings. I learned that a fish is a cold-blooded animal and therefore is very sensitive to water temperature. That is why fish prefer shallow water to deep water because the former is warmer. Besides, water is usually warmer in direct sunlight than in the shade. Yet, fish dont have any eyelids(眼皮) and the sun huts their eyes The more I understood fish, the more I became effective at finding and catching them. When I grew up and entered the business world, I remember hearing my first boss say, “We all need to think like sales people.” But it didnt completely make sense. My dad never once said, “If you want to catch a fish you need to think like a fisherman.” What he said was, “You need to think like a fish.” Years later, with great efforts to promote long-term services to people much older and richer than me, I gradually learned what we all need is to think more like customers. It is not an easy job. I will show you how in the following chapters.1. Why was the author upset in fishing trips when he was nine?A. He could not catch a fish. B. His father was not patient with him.C. His father did not teach him fishing.D. He could not influence a fish as his father did.2. What did the authors father really mean?A. To read about fish.B. He had a special voice and he wanted to work in Disneys cartoon film for children. When Walter Disney heard Nashs voice, he said, “Stop! Thats our duck!” The duck was the now-famous Donald Duck, who first appeared in 1934 in the film The Wise Little Hen. Donald Duck went on to become one of the most famous cartoon characters in the world, and a great part of this was due to Nashs distinctive(独特的) voice. It may well be one of the most recognizable(可辨识的)character voices in history. The voice is distinctive both for its ducklike quality and the fact that it is often very difficult for anybody to understand, especially when Donald became angry. Later that year he became a star after an eight-minute Mickey Mouse film. The cinema audience liked him because he was lazy and greedy(贪婪的) , and because he lost his temper(脾气) very quickly. And they loved his voice when he became angry with Mickeys eight nephews(侄子) . Soon Donald was more popular than Mickey Mouse himself, probably because he wasnt goody-goody (假正经) like Mickey. In the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s Donald and his friends Mickey, Goofy and Pluto made hundreds of Disney cartoons. He also made educational films about the place of the USA in the world, and safety in the home. Then in 1966 Donald Duck and his voice disappeared- there were no more new cartoons. Clarence Nash died in February, 1985. But todays children can still see the old cartoons on television and hear that famous voice.6. Who was Clarence Nash?A. A cartoon maker in America B. A famous duck in the worldC. A famous film star in America D. The man who gave Donald Ducks voice7. According to the passage, Donald Duck_.A. became famous mainly because of Nashs special voice B. was lovely and had a good temper C. had a voice which was easy for people to understandD. made thousands of Disney cartoons with his friends8.
