POLICY AND PROCEDURESSecurityDIVISION: RMSDEPARTMENT:SecurityCODE: 04 10 018DATE:APPROVED BY: MDREVISION:SUBJECT:Loss or theftPOLICYTo establish a policy which enables staff to deal with such instances which occur when they are on duty.PURPOSETo ensure that in an instance such as a loss or theft the staff involved are under on doubt as to their role in handling the crisis.PROCEDUREIf any lost case cannot be proved to have been stolen by somebody (e.g. The item is placed in public area w/o locked or looded after by somebody) or the time, date, and location of the loss cannot be confirmed, that will be classified as a LOST CASE!Only the Police and the Security can classify a lost case. Before classification, entrance at the scene is prohibited, especially if the loss occurred in the room.In case it is classified as lost case, the loss report must be submitted by security. If it happened in the guests room, the invstigation work sheet must be done as well.In case it is classified as a theft case, the incident report must be submitted and reported to the police. Before the arrival of the police, the security should cordon off the other areas and the concerned staff must stay in the hotel to be questioned by the police.Only our hotel guests would be escorted by our security to the police station because of lacking manpower.When we report to the police, the official memo must be taken.Pag e1of21 / 22 / 2
