Do you remember what they are? S: They are “more”, “fewer” and “less”. T: Good. Do you know the rules, when we use these words?S: We use “more”, “fewer” to talk about the countable nouns, and we use “more” “less” to talk about the uncountable nouns.T: Excellent! And we use superlative constructions to compare more than two things, what are the superlative words of “more”, “fewer” and “less”S: They are “the most”, “the fewest” and “the least”.T: Good. I think you have a good command of these words to make comparisons. Now today we are going to learn other phrases to make comparison. Present when to use “the same as”. Give some examples.e.g. My lunchtime at is 11:30, my sisters lunchtime is at 11:30, too. My lunchtime is the same as my sisters. T: Please read the sentences and find out what phrase we use to combine two sentences. .Ask some students to find out the key phrases “the same as”.T: When we compare two things, they have same points, so we can use “the same as” to connect the things. Step II“different from”T: Now Id like to give you another example and try to find out what key phrases are used to compare two things.Example: Jacks hat is white, and Mandys hat is red. Jacks hat is different from Mandys. Ask students to read the sentence and find out the key phrases. T: When we compare two things, they are different, so we can use different from.
