Among them, artistic performance is an important aspect of comprehensive artistic ability training. At the same time, art performance is also a subjective reflection of students on objective things. It is the external manifestationof studentsimagination,observation,aestheticperception,and innovative consciousness. However, the age stage of elementary school students makes their judgment and cognition of things immature. Teachers need to intuitively teach and operate to promote the understanding of teaching content , and then promote their artistic expression ability. improve. Therefore, the demonstration teaching method focusing on cognition and skills has always been a very important teaching method in the art classroom of elementary schools. However, the current application of demonstration teaching in the art classroom of elementary schools generally has the imagination of seeing techniques but not educating people. How to adapt to the development of the times and change the important teaching method of demonstration teaching requires our thinking and facing problem. Taking fine art expression as the starting point, this article made an investigation on the issue of cultivating the relevant abilities in primary school students, resorting to the approach of demonstration teaching. Problems existing in demonstration teaching were identified, followed by in-depth anatomization. Implementation principles and suggestions of demonstration teaching were presented, and later merged in the teaching practice, with a combined reference to the psychological characteristics of primary school students. The ultimate aim was to improve the teaching effect achieved by the demonstration teaching method in class, and to promote the upgrading of students ability of fine art expression.This article is divided into five part as follwed: The introduction part integrates relevant literature and works, and summarizes the research background and significance. Then comb the domestic demonstration teaching research situation, form a theoretical basis with guiding value, confirm the research method of this research, define related concepts, and lay a good foundation for this research. The first being an overview of relevant theories and an analysis on the feasibility of enhancing the expression ability in fine art by using demonstration teaching. IV The second being a survey on the current status of demonstration teaching in fine art classes of primary school, with a questionnaire and interview outlines compiled and relevant case studies made. The third chapter being ideas in optimizing the demonstration teaching method, which is the principal section of this article, where the author figured out the widely existing problems in the application of demonstration teaching in cultivating the fundamental expression ability in fine art by means of the survey on current status in chapter two, on which basis implementation suggestions were presented in aspects including practicing the fundamental principles, laws of cognitivedevelopment, constructionof comprehensive teaching ideas, induction of students in using various expression techniques and media, and giving interpretations in combination with art
