Buttons can/should be used for compression-set testing where its difficult to run compression set on the grommet. (Typically where carriers are involved with thin rubber cross-sections) 1.Height and Width should be comparable to rubber thickness on part 2.Details of button to be documented in control plan and inspection reported submitted to Federal Mogul. Require 3 compression set tests for DV per part number. 1 button from beginning, middle and end of each manufacturing trial for each part number sample. Test Result Requirement: Compression set results on button must be in alignment with suppliers approved material specification for compression set per ASTM D395 test.
