Class:seven Student ID:2011040011247Name:李雅雅(Helen)Composition 1We should change ourselves to adapt to the environmentNowadays,there is a general discussion about whether we should change ourselves to accommodate to the environment or not.Quite a few deem that we should change the environment to cater to our own habits,but others think conversely.They hold the view that we should maintain our own characteristics and personalities while changing ourselves to adapt to the environment.As for my part,I totally see eye to eye on the former perspective.My reasons are as follows.First and foremost,as the old saying goes,“The fittest are the survivor in natural selection.”It demonstrates the point that we had better change ourselves to adapt to the environment.According to Darwins theory of evolution.The evolution of all things in nature are also changing themselves to adapt to the environment in the process of evolution.The following are some examples related to his theory：The crocodiles change themselves from aquatic animals to amphibians,just for making a living.In order to adapt to the dangerous environment,turtles grow a shell;in order to protect themselves from danger,chameleons learned how to change the color of its skin. In our daily life,based on the needs of the environment,many people recognize that changing themselves can guarantee them a better life.Without any doubt,we also witness that some people are facing with complicated environment.They learn life skills and learn to be sleek in order not to offend anyone,but they lose themselves and their initial directions.In order to support my standpoint,I want to tell you a story about the invention of shoes concerned with a king.Previously,when shoes had not been invented yet,people had to walk barefoot,so they had to endure the pain of walking without shoes.In a country,in order to please the king,a minister make the whole palace covered with leather,the king stepped on the floor,he felt very comfortable.In order to make himself feel comfortable wherever he went,the king ordered that all the roads across the whole country should be covered with leather.The ministers thought it was so difficult to meet his needs.Even if they kill all cattle in the country,the feather would still not enough to pave the way.At the same,it would cost a large amount of money. A quite brilliant minister came up with an idea about how to persuade the king to change his mind,he suggested the king that he should try to wrap his feet with leather, and then fasten a rope to tie shoes tightly.In that case, the kings feet would not suffer the pain anymore.The king was very surprised to hear that.So he withdrew his command and adopted the recommendation of the minister.After that,shoes had been invented.We have to confess that the second way is a win-win approach. From this story,we can see that the king changed his idea instead of changing the environment.If he just wants to change the environment,the result will turn out to be terrible. Most of time,we should change ourselves to adapt to the environment.In the real life,one often feels that the surrounding environment is not smooth just as he wishes.Because natural conditions are harsh,and there is always mutual strife between people and environment.Such as the heavy pressure because of work,the low wage and so on.Faced with some kinds of trouble,many people complain that life is too harsh,they blame everyone and everything but not themselves.In a matter of fact,as for the surrounding environment,we can come up with a way to change it,Although the change of environment is rather difficult,we should adapt to it to make progress.The road is the original road,and the situation is still the original one,and if we can make a good decision,the road and the situation will give us entirely different results.Secondly,we cannot emphasize the importance of environment too much,but it is universally acknowledged that environment cannot be changed as easily as we think.But we still must make a living , it is useless to complain,so what we can do is to change ourselves and adapt to it.In modern life,Not only should we adapt to the environment,but also display ourselves in the environment.What Han Han faced with is a mixed environment,but he changes himself into a unique personality and his exceptional talent has won everyones approval.He finally succeeds,instead of complaining about the environment.Thirdly,I want to tell you another two small stories.The first one is,one day,the wind blowed off a tree.
