This project will outline the planning and the aims and objective of the project. The project is to fulfil the Vision and Mission statements of the company and aid those in the medical profession and assist the efficiency of healthcare services in Britain. The database to be implemented into the different hospitals, is to be developed by an external developer, rather than creating the database based system internally. The importance of developing ICT within healthcare is that the healthcare services in Britain are a significant part of everyones life and affects the vast amount of people in Britain, those of all ages. It is essential that the efficiency and quality of the services that the NHS offer is always developed. VisionTo improve the efficiency within healthcare using the development and implementation of database based software.MissionThe mission is to provide efficient and high quality software to medical institution is easier for access to information when required, assisting those in the medical profession and members of the public. AimsTo implement an NHS Database into different departments of 3 selected hospitals in the West Midlands region, in order to improve the efficiency in hospital services by March 2012.Objectives1. To produce a report for hospitals that allows them to understand the system to be implemented into their department by May 2011.2. To develop a training scheme and testing strategy to monitor the performance of the database based system by July 2011.3. To implement the system into 3 hospitals situated in the West Midlands region in August 2012.4. To train the staff who will be using the system during September and October 2011.5. To collect feedback from users of the database based system in September and October 2
