SOD (p0.05) MDA (p0.05) 2 SOD MDA SOD MDA The influence on SOD and MDA in the serum of chronic atrophic gastritis rats with acupuncture on Back-shu points Abstract Objects:to observe the influence of Back-shu acupuncture on Superoxide dismutase(SOD),Malondialdehyde(MDA)in the serum of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG) rats and on pathohistology of gastric mucosa,to investigate the mechanism in the treatment of CAG,and provide theoretical and experimental evidence for further treatment of CAG. Methods:120 healthy and aseptic SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:A(blank group);B(model group);C(regular acupuncture group);D(medicine group);E (Back-shu points acupuncture group).All the rats,except for group A,were modeled through comprehensive factor modeling method.After successful modeling,group C,D and E were treated by medicine,regular acupuncture,or Back-shu points acupuncture with continuous therapy for a month,once a day,7 days a course,4 courses altogether.All the rats were sacrificed after the therapy to detect SOD activity and MDA content in blood serum and observe pathohistology of gastric mucosa. Results:1.Compared to blank group,SOD in the serum of rats in group B goes down,while MDA goes up(P0.01). 2.Compared to model group,SOD in the serum of rats in group C D E goes up(P0.05),while MDA goes down(P0.05). 3.Compared to other therapy group,SOD in rats of Back-shu points acupuncture group goes up(P0.05),while MDA goes down.(P0.05). Conclusion: Routine acupuncture, drug intervention and back-shu points of acupuncture can repair gastric mucosa of rats with chronic atrophic gastritis, back-shu acupuncture group, compared with the other two groups, has more obvious effect. The three groups are able to repair gastric epithelial cells, inhibit inflammation, reduce the proliferation of epithelial cells, increase serum SOD activity and decrease MDA content.
