Do you remember what he was like before? /in Grade One? What does he look like now? Compare two or three students or teachers. Let students tell something about their appearance or personality. Write “He was short in Grade One . But he is tall now.” Today we learn a new sentences “ He used to be short. But he is tall now. ”2. 自主探学Step 2: explain “used to be/do ” “ He used to play computer games every day. But now he study really hard.” Let students describe their partner. Please use “used to do /be”Step 3: Deal with activity 1a Turn to p25, lets look at 1a. Please write down the words as many as possible. if you want to know others appearance or personality, we can ask: “What does he look like?/ Whats he like? ”3. 合作研学Now I want to know something about yourself. “Whats your change?” Please use “I used to ,but now I ” Four students a group. 4. 变换拓学Step 4: Deal with 1b and 1c. Let s look at the picture. and could you tell us what are their changes? Listen to the tape and do 1b Step 5: deal with 2a and 2b. Listen to the tape and do 2a and 2b 重点句型:1. Mario, you used to be short, didnt you? 马里奥, 你以前个子矮, 是吗?(1)本句是 used to do 的反意疑问句。used to do 的反意疑问句的附加疑问句部分要使用didnt。如:He used to play the piano, didnt he? 他过去常常弹钢琴,是吗?3 (2)used to 是固定搭配,意为“以前经常;过去常常”。如:She used to be quiet. 他过去很文静。used to to 为不定式,后跟动词原形,used to do sth. be used to doing stth. to 为介词,后跟动名词,be used to doing sth. “be used to do sth. 被用于做某事,是被动语态不定式表示目的时 用于多种时态。3. I used to see him reading in the library every day. 我以前天天看到他在图书馆看书。see sb. doing sth. 看到某人正在做某事, 其中 doing sth.是宾语补足语。see sb. doing sth. 表示“看到某人正在做某事”,强调动作正在进行。see sb. do sth. 表示“看到某人做某事”,强调动作经常发生或看到动5. 当堂检学Exercise 按要求完成句子:1 Lucy used to have straight hair.(改为一般疑问句) 2 She used to work very late. (改为否定句 ) 3 Your uncle used to work in a factory, ? (完成反意疑问句 ) 4 I used to play the piano after school. Whats your change? Did you use to be to be afraid of the dark/ snakes / mice/ spiders and other insects?/playing the roller coaster/ speaking with teachers/in public? What about now? Are you still afraid of them? What do you do about it? Ask two or three students. Step II Revision 1.Revise the conversations that the students learned in the first period. Ask them to talk about some pictures. 2.Check the homework. Talk about what one person used to be like and she/ he is like now. 2. 自主探学Step IIl Presentation 1.Show the class a picture of a big dog ,then introduce the new conversations in 3a : I used to be afraid of big dogs. I m still afraid of big dogs. 2.Ask the students some questions like this : What did you use to be afraid of? Are you still afraid of.?3. 合作研学Step IV Teaching Tasks 1.Task One (Pairwork) :Match the pictures with the phrases. (1) Show the students six pictures about the phrases in 3a. (2) Ask the students to talk about the pictures in pairs and match them. 2.Task Two :Put checks in the first two columns. (1) Show the students the first two columns about “I ”, then get them to put checks. (2) Ask a group of students to read out their answers like this: I used to be afraid of. / Im still afraid of. 3.Task Three(Pairwork) :Put checks in the last two columns. (1) Show the students the last two columns about “My Partner ”. (2) Get the students to practice the dialogs in 3b. 5 (3) Put checks in the columns. (4) Ask several pairs to present their answers. 4. 变换拓学Task Four(Groupwork): A survey (1) Show the students a form about the activities. (2) Get the students to fill in the blanks about “Me”.
