This course emphasizes the independent activities as well as the ego-experience of students. The aim of the course is to acquire the creativity and strength the ability of application of knowledge of book. Accompanied and supplemented by other courses, researching study plays a very important role in the improvement of fundamental education of China, especially for the change of viewpoint on the aim of education. The fact is that little knowledge of researching study has been mastered by the teachers in the middle schools of China. There is still some conflicts between the researching study and the traditional study, such as time, teaching strategies etc. Development of local course of RS is very important for the present fundamental education of China either from theoretical or practical point of view.The different theories of Researching Study were introduced and discussed briefly. The activities of researching study have been carried out in our school since 2001. A lot of firsthand data and experiences have gained. The local researching study course has been developed by us last year. This course was put into practice in the No.6 Middle School of Yizhang. This self-designed course of RS considers the local situation and the shortcoming of ours. The one-year experiment gave us the opportunity to find the relationship between the RS and other current VIIsubjects. It also gave us some experience on basic teaching patterns as well as teaching procedures about the RS taught in full-time high school in China. The result of our experiment shows that our self-designed RS course is acceptable. It also indicates that the present self-designed RS course can be applied by other school when some improvement was taken into account.This article discusses the background knowledge and importance of Researching Study. It also introduces the contents, features and the present status in this field. The details and the procedure of realization of the local researching study course are also given. The result of the experiment indicates that the present local researching study course can be applied included improvement.
