Task 1Book The most book for me is the Problems of Philosophy written by Bertrand Russell. This book gives a brief but to the point introduction of the most basic problems in philosophy. It tells me how the problems come out and how the philosophers dealt with them. The words are simple but precise, the examples are familiar and the logic is very clear. This is the first philosophy book I have read. Based on this book, it is easier for me to read other academic books. So I think it is the most book for me Spare time/Place Had I some spare time, I would like to go to the library. The reasons are as followed. First, I love reading. The library has a lot of books. I may not only find many books in my interesting realm, but also I can explore some new regimes. The library is quiet and I like the environment that relaxes my spirit. Second, I can meet some friends sharing my habit. We can have discussion on interesting books. I made a lot of friends in this way and I really learn a lot from them. Therefore, I think library is really a good place to spare some time. Outdoor place Had I some spare time, I would like to go to a park located at the foot of Fragrant Hill, in Beijing. There are various kinds of plants in the park. You can find flowers in every season. In spring, especially, there are tens of thousands of flowers blooming up. What a colorful scene! A twisting river runs through the park bringing tenderness and cool winds. The atmosphere is extremely clear. Each breath is relaxing and comfortable so that people are willing to take some sports in the spacious grassland. Transportation I would like to talk about bicycle. It is extremely common in China, especially in the north. Since there are more and more cars, people said that the traffic jam in Beijing lasts from 6 am to 12 pm. Owing to the bad traffic, cars are not always convenient. However, if the distance is not that long, it is better or even more efficient to ride a bike. In addition, since this is a way to take exercise, there are still quite a lot of people choose bicycles on the road. Sport Shuttlecock is a popular group game in China, not exclusively for the young or the old. Even though people can kick the shuttlecock alone, it has much fun for a couple of people to play this game together. We can use any part of the body to hit the shuttlecock and try our best to prevent it drop on the ground. During the game, people exercise their body especially on the lags. Some skillful people can make many difficult posture while kick the shuttlecock. Event The most memorable celebration event is the National Day in 2009, when I was an undergraduate student in Peking University. That day, I took part in the celebration of the 60th birthday. There was a spectacular parade in Tiananmen Square and I am a member in one of the groups passing the square. We practice for the parade for several months. The practice is very tiring so that everyone hopes that the National Day comes soon. When the day really came, we all felt very exciting even though we almost had not slept the night before. My families are proud of me too。 Hometown My hometown is in Guizhou Province. The landscape is terrific. There is a spectacular waterfall, named Huangguoshu, which is the largest waterfall group in the world. We can even go through the waterfall via a cave in the mountain just behind the water screen. There are many minorities in my province. They have many different but interesting cultures. Their clothes and buildings are very special and valuable for research work. Food in my province is also excellent, mainly spicy. Even a small restaurant cooks tasty food. Food Food in my hometown is mainly spicy so that they always look red. Since the climate in my province is wet and harmful to human body, people use hot pepper to prevent humidity. Acid is also a flavor in our food. Together with hot pepper, acid soup is used to make hotpot. A crowd of people sit around the hotpot, putting all kinds of food in the boiled soup. And several minutes later, the food is ok to eat. Dipping the food in a bowl of sauce makes them taste better. Characteristic of good teacher/parent I think good teachers/parents should have the following characteristics. First, they should be careful enough. They should always take care of the children and think more of the children. And only by this means can they understand what the children need to learn/live and why sometimes children make mistakes. Second, they should be diligent. (Parents are the best teachers for children.) They should set a good example for the children. How can teachers/parents ask children to do what themselves cannot fulfill?
