C R E D E N T I A L H A N D B O O KYour Guide to Becoming a Recognized Project LeaderThis handbook contains information on how you can apply for the globally recognized, highly valued PMP credential. This handbook applies to both computer-based and paper-based testing candidates.About PMIs Credentials As a global organization with a 37-year history of advocacy for the profession, Project Management Institute (PMI ) supports practitioners with project management credentials that objectively assess experience, education and knowledge The family of credentials includes the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), the Program Management Professional (PgMPSM), and one of the worlds most widely recognized professional credentials, the Project Management Professional (PMP). PMI credentials establish your dedication to and proficiency in the profession. When you earn a PMI credential, you gain distinction and recognition in a growing community of project management practitioners. To attain a credential, you must satisfy the educational and professional experience requirements established by PMI, demonstrate your ability to apply your project management understanding and knowledge to situational and scenario-based questions in the examination, and, in the case of the PgMP, successfully complete two additional evaluations. Achievement of one or several of these prestigious credentials acknowledges your abilities in project and program management and increases your visibility within your organization and on an international level. In order to maintain the credential, you must show ongoing professional commitment to the field of project management by satisfying PMIs Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program or by renewing the credential. If you are ready to establish your credibility in the application of project management practices and to become a more valuable member of your organization, you have taken a step in the right direction. Join the ranks of this elite group of credential holders and gain the professional recognition you deserve.
