1Calling applicants for Subsidy 2005 by AEON Environmental Foundation Application Guide Period of Application: June1(Wed) August20(Sat),2005 Purpose This subsidy is granted to groups or individuals who are energetically and continuously involved in activities targeting the conservation of global and regional environments as global citizens. 1. Targets Basic Theme “To Protect Natures Ecosystem” . The 15th Calling applicants for Subsidy ( Total amount of Subsidy is 100 million Japanese Yen ) In essence, this subsidy covers the following environmental conservation activities being undertaken in overseas ( developing countries ) and within Japan in conjunction with field work. A. Tree planting, greening, prevention of desertification B. Protection of wild animal and Natures Ecosystem C. Natural environment clean up activities D. Other practical activities aimed at protecting natures ecosystem *Field work means an outdoor work or a field investigation. . Special Subsidy celebrated The 15th Anniversary of Aeon Environmental Foundation ( Total amount of Subsidy is 50 million Japanese Yen ) This subsidy covers tree planting activities to generate the forest of Japan. . Tree planting, Mowing, Improvement cutting,or Thinning to nurse trees in Japan. 2. Period Covered by the Subsidy One(1) year commencing from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007. The project must be finished within one year. 3. Eligibility (1) Groups or individuals should be continuously undertaking environmental conservation activities. ( The career of activities should be continued over one year.) (2) Applicants should be endorsed by either one Japanese intellectual well versed in environmental issues, a regional intellectual / expert involved in the consideration of environmental issues across a wide range of fields, or one individual or one group of specialists in a related field. ( They should be no concerned with applicants. ) (3) Groups or individuals that are based overseas should have a contact group or individual resident in Japan. 2(4) A joint-stock Corporation or a limited Company cannot apply. 4. Obligations of Subsidy Recipients (1) Conclusion of a memorandum: Recipients are required to conclude a memorandum relating to the subsidy with this Foundation. (2) Submission of project reports: i. Upon completion of projects financed by the subsidy, recipients are required to submit a report on the results of their activities and a financial report. ii. Recipients are required to specify that they are recipients of funding from this Foundation, while proceeding the activities concerned and in report documents. iii. Recipients are required to attach original receipts when submitting their financial report. * Japanese translation should be attached to any report documents submitted in a language other than Japanese. * Any documents submitted are non-returnable. (3) Details of the progress / results of the activities concerned may be released in the reports or other documents issued by this Foundation. 5. Use of the Subsidy The subsidy is to be used for the above mentioned. And the subsidy should not be used for the bellows. (1) A tool or fixture which can be used for other activities also. (2) The fixed property over 100,000 Yen. (3) A Social gathering or a Recreation feast etc. 6. Method of Determining Subsidy Recipients Subsidy recipients will be selected by the board of trustees after application forms have been examined by the selection committee of this Foundation. * Note that the amount of each subsidy will be determined on the basis of the amount applied for / the content of the activities, and that there may be instances in which only part of the amount applied for is awarded. 7. Announcement of Selection Results i. All applicants will be contacted in writing at the end of November 2005. ii. The results will be announced on the official website of this Foundation at the end of December 2005. * Note that inquiries pertaining to the selection will not be accepted either before or after the application period. 8. Method of Payment The transfer of subsidies will be made in Japanese Yen into bank accounts held in Japan within 3March, 2006. 9. Requests for the Application Guide and Application Procedures (1) Obtaining the application guide and application form i. The documents may be downloaded from the official website of this Foundation from June 1, 2005. ii. Those wishing to receive the documents by mail should send an return envelope stating the applicants name, address and telephone number and a 80-yen stamp to the address shown below. ( Application should be done through group or individual resident in Japan. ) (2) Application procedures Applicants are requested to fill in the necessary information on the designated 2005 application form in Japanese and then send the completed document to the address shown below. .
