Outside Mirrors R56.For a clearer rear viewConforming to amended legal requirements (EU), the outside mirrors on the E56 have a largerfieldofviewintermsofheightcompared to the R50.The mirrors are additionally equipped with aspherical glass that also improves the lateral field of vision, thus reducing the non-visible area (dead angle).This is achieved in that the mirror glass is not uniformlycurvedspherically(convexglass)but ratheriscurvedmoreacutelyintheouterarea.The position of the outside mirrors can be adjusted by means of the buttons in the door trim panel.The outside mirrors on the R56 are also optionally available with an electric mirror folding drive unit. The outside mirrors are then folded in or out by the push of a button.The mirror fold-in and out function is controlled by a separate control unit.4657System overview.
