姓名:梁丹 学号:20130506335 班级:2013 级翻译 2班School Is All We NeedMOOCs is simply a fad while school is all we need. It is really a truth. 50 years later, the traditional higher education will not surrender to MOOCs. On the contrary, it will gain popularity with the passage of time. To illustrate my points of view, I would like to demonstrate the reasons from the following aspects. Considering the poverty-stricken regions, MOOCs is but a dream. Although after 50 years, the entire human society will witness huge changes and substantial revolutionary progress, the root is still there. Whats root? The root I mentioned above refers to polarization, or the widening gap between the rich and the poor. It is proved that this catch will be more devastating than it already is now in the year of 2065. As a consequence, impoverished areas are doomed to undergo this harsh reality. They lack the capital to have an extensive access to network. Governments will submerge themselves in the construction of schools for the simple reason that education is the best cure for poverty. Then, traditional higher education would become their first priority. This is only about the poor localities, there is another factor. At that time, higher education landscape will be prosperous and glamorous. Students in other countries are likely to get tired of the online courses and want action. To be specifically, they crave the traditional education system. Whats more, years of looking at the single screen have taken their tolls on students eyes. Sometimes, some unhealthy websites or electrifying computer games will easily coax them into visiting or playing them, which are absolutely detrimental to their growth and posing a threat to their academic performance. For this, our higher education is the winner. In class, students are immersed in the vast sea of knowledge as well as developing study skills. Cooperation and coordination spirits will make them cherish the harmonious atmosphere at large. Pains and gains are determined by their dedication. It is the core of our higher education. Therefore, it is my contention that the higher education will enjoy its day in the future.I want to make it clear that it is merely my conclusion. According to reliable resources, tests of higher education are more real and credible than online tests. There is a pitfall that online tests are open to cheating. Even soundly run mechanical tests are no substitute for the fuller picture provided by human examiners. In some places, students are allowed to grade their peers, even if honest, may be flawed. This again add good point to the traditional higher education. For me, it is bound to be the best choice for people. In the year of 2065, students and teachers will be closely interconnected with each other. Students will be the ruler of the whole class and acquire knowledge almost by themselves through exploring and sharing. Still, teachers are wanted when they need guidance and instructions. They will be taught to develop critical thinking skills and become more independent. To a large extent, schools are places for discussion. In the traditional higher education, they can voice minds and thoughts to their hearts content. From this angle, they are of paramount significance to them.Just taken Chinas actual condition as an example, it has been a long history since the formation of the traditional higher education. Our country is soaked in the Confucianism. Confucius was a prominent figure in our nation, ranging from his educational thoughts, philosophical beliefs to his political ideals. Its certain that every single Chinese should discharge his or her responsibilities to develop them. Also we need to spread them to the outside world. Therefore, 2065 will see the flourishing of our traditional higher education. School is all we need. It is really a truth.
