The Soviet Spirit is not only an indispensable spirit power in the construction of Socialism with Chinese characteristics but also a new way to improve college students ideological and moral level. That s because the Soviet Spirit consists a lot of precious spirit, it requests us to be a firm-faith, truth-seeking, pragmatic, honest, work hard and perseveringly, contend for achieve top-ranking, selfless devotion person. With the rapid development of social economy and culture, the ideological and moral education also gives us many new problems, but the scientific connotation of the Soviet Spirit is still our spiritual support. This paper uses the college students as the main research object, and the method of literature, history and reality analysis method, empirical analysis method and so on many kinds of methods as the research method, deeply studying the relation of Soviet Spirit and the university students ideological and moral education. The paper first discusses the background of the Soviet Spirit and the scientific connotation of the Soviet spirit; next it analyzes the challenges of using Soviet Spirit in university students ideological and moral education；the third part expounds the principles of using Soviet Spirit into the university students ideological and moral education；the fourth part discusses about the significance of providing Soviet Spirit into the university students ideological and moral education; finally raises the way of putting forward the Soviet Spirit into the university students ideological and moral education. In this new era, it is the extremely important and meaningful to continue to carry forward the Soviet Spirit, fully use the instructive function of Soviet Spirit in contemporary college students, promote university students ideological and moral education working smoothly and build students healthy in mind and body, provide college students with firm communist ideal faith.
