HPMV-DN Medium-voltage Soft StarterInstruction Manual1SafetyRead this manual carefully before operating the equipment and follow the instructions. Installation, operation and maintenance should be strictly accordance with this manual, national codes and good practice. Installation or operation not performed in strict accordance with these instructions will void manufacturers warranty. Disconnect all power inputs before servicing the soft-starter and/or the motor. After installation, check and verify that no parts (bolts, washers, etc) have fallen into the power Section (IP00).Attention1.This product was designed for compliance with IEC 947-4-2 for class A equipment. 2.For further information see Technical SpecificationWarningsInternal components and P.C.Bs are at main potential when the HPMV -DN is connected to main voltage. This voltage is extremely dangerous and will cause death or severe injury if contacted. When HPMV-DN is connected to the main voltage, even if control voltage is disconnected and motors is stopped, full voltage may appear on starters output and motors terminals. Unit must be grounded to ensure correct operation, safety and prevent damage. SCRs may fail due to:* High short current not protected by proper fuses. * High voltage spikes not protected by proper external Varistors. * Frequent starting at maximum conditions or fault conditions.OVER TEMPERATUREHeat-sink over-temperature trips the starter when heat-sink temperature rises above 85C. Improve cooling or use a by-pass control. Check that motor starting is not too frequent.EXTERNAL FAULT 1&2Trips the starter when a N.O contact between terminals 19-21 closes for over two seconds. Check contact position and cause of closure.WRONG PARAMETERSParameters not transferred from RAM to EEPROM or vice versa. After replacing the EPROM with a new software version or after power up, press Reset, than Mode and simultaneously and save the default parameters by pressing Store and Mode simultaneously. (If Fault LED is on, press Reset after storing parameters).* NOTES:1.When operating in generator mode, shorted SCR and wrong connection faults are not active. 2.Upon any fault, check first Fiber/Optic leads and confirm correct lead insertion (full 18mm).Technical Specification39General Information: Supply Voltage .
