We use drive design software to plan customized and universal automation solutions together with mechanical engineers. Our comprehensive product portfolio offers the perfect solution for every application. The portfolio includes all the components required for efficient drive systems, from powerful low-maintenance direct drives and a finely graded range of servo motors in different sizes and performance categories to servo converters and integrated safety technology. After the system is commissioned, Baumller offers a comprehensive range of services (maintenance and repair) to guarantee maximum machine availability. Extensive retrofit measures enhance the performance of machinery and plants in the long term and consolidate or increase productivity. Efficiency modulesDrive design - Efficient drive dimensioningTo ensure optimum energy usage, motors have to be precisely sized and operated at the ideal power/space ratio. This avoids the problem of surplus energy and reduces the size of the required reserves to a minimum. In order to make this optimization/selectionprocess as easy as possible for engineers, Baumller has developed sizemaXX, a software program for drive dimensioning.MotorsDirect drives are characterized by increased efficiency as there is no need for gears or belts to be interconnected for transmission purposes. As synchronous motors, they are able to combine high torques with low speeds. The significantly reduced running noise renders expensive measures for noise suppression obsolete. Their compact design enables the size of the machinery/footprint to be reduced. Service and maintenance are virtually unnecessary. In order to help its customers make the most energy-efficient selection when purchasing drives, Baumller offers various series for all manner of applications and motor types with precise output gradations.ConvertersFor more than 30 years, Baumller has been developing controllers which, rather than converting energy into heat when the brakes are applied, feed it back into the system. Instead of braking resistors, Baumller insists on using regenerative systems. For this purpose, Baumller uses its b maXX servo controllers, which are integrated in the DC link. The energy generated is fed back into the DC link so all the controllers have to do is compensate the prevailing energy losses, which are relatively insignificant. The peak load and rated load devices supplement the proven bmaXX series and are available in five frame sizes.
