Unit 1 Friendship The Second Period Reading Unit 1 Friendship The Second Period Reading 一、学情分析 It is the first period and most of my students know little about the Annes Diary and its social background, so it without doubt will add to the difficulty of my students comprehension of the reading material. However, students carefully previewing the words and the passage surely will lessen their difficulty in comprehending. Moreover, Students in my class are easily activated by pictures and they like to air their opinions about something. So discussion in groups is supposed to be carried out effectively. 二、教材分析 The material is the reading part in Unit 1 Annes Best FriendAnnes Best Friend from PEP NSEFC Module 2. The Topic of this unit is friendship. And this reading passage tells us what Anne and her family suffered from and Annes feelings in such situation. 三、教学目标(Teaching aims) 1、能力目标(Ability aim) a. Enable students to learn the background of the story b. Understand the surface information by filling in the table c. Step 4 4 While-reading Activity1: Skim the first passage below and find who was Annes best friend. Activity2: Background This is a true story. It took place in Amsterdam, Holland in the early 1940s after the German Nazis had occupied most of Europe. One of their key policies was to kill all the Jews in Europe. If any persons known to be Jews were found, they would be sent to concentration camps in Poland. Families were separated and transported in trains. For many days, they went without food, water, even without fresh air. To avoid this terrible fate, some Jewish families went into hiding. This diary was written during the time when Anne and her family moved to escape from being killed by Nazis.
