AbstractMany middle school students in learning English vocabulary, lacking of effective ways, and teachers should attach great importance to this issue. In the teaching process we should adhere to the effectiveness of policies and practice in teaching of vocabulary, and so that students understand a certain word formation, phonics and spelling rule; master collocations, contextual application of skills to ensure students to grasp the scientific and effective learning strategies to form good study skills, improve proficiency of the language and to lay a good foundation for lifelong learning. In foreign language learning, one of the most important and basic element is the vocabulary. The size of the vocabulary of the language directly affects the development of student skills. You can not actually use the language unless you reserve a certain number of words. Vocabulary teaching is an integral part of the English teaching.
