Lets look at the clubs. What are they? They are art club, English club, chess club, swimming club and music club. What club do you want to join? Help the students to answer I want to join the art club and so on. If the school has clubs, the teacher can ask the students: What clubs do we have in our school?The teacher writes What club do you want to join? I want to join on the blackboard. Ask the students to practice it.Then introduces the key vocabularies and the words can and cant. The teacher says to the students who say he/she wants to join the basketball club: Can you play basketball? Help the students say Yes, I can. No, I cant. Then repeat with other actions or pictures, such as play volleyball.Show the students the activities the people in each club can do with the same step. Then repeat with dance, swim, play chess, paint, speak English and play the guitar with the help of doing the action. Or we can use the PowerPoint to help us to show the students what we can do. Ask them to use the vocabulary from .Step7 .Difficulties1. 动词 play 的几种用法 (1)play 表示“玩(球类)”或“玩棋牌及其他游戏”,这时作宾语的名词前不带任何冠词。如:play basketball/cards/chess/bridge/badminton 打篮球/ 打牌/下棋/打桥牌/打羽毛球。 (2)play 表示“演奏,弹奏(乐器)” ,这时表示乐器的名词前须带定冠词the。如 play the piano/violin。 (3)play 表示“ 装扮、扮演”。如:play a doctor/ Lu Xun/ the fool 扮一名医生/扮演鲁迅/装傻 (4)play with fire 玩火,play with water 玩水,play with balls玩球,这些短语中的介词 with 不能丢。 play 还有一些其他常见的用法和含义。 (5)play sth. for sb. = play sb. sth. 为某人播放 (6)play + sth. + on + 乐器 用某乐器演奏(某乐曲) 2. help sb. do sth. 与 help sb. with sth. Can you help kids with swimming? 你能教孩子游泳吗? Help sb. with sth. 此词组的意思为“在某方面帮助某人”,还可以说 help sb. do sth.。 如果上下文意义较明确时,两个词组可以互换。 注:在 help sb. with sth. 结构中,with 是介
