The process has (or will have) well-defined KPIs that will be used to measure the success and performance of the implementation Higher ratings make it more likely that the success of the project can be measured against real criteria3. The roles and structures in the organization are prepared to invest time in the iterative development cycle to ensure that the process development is successful A higher rating indicates that the project development is likely to have the necessary support from the business to complete successfully4. The process is critical to the daily operation of the business A higher rating may imply additional investment in resources and skills and more effort spent in solution design and architecture5. The organization has the necessary resources and skills to implement the solution A lower rating may indicate that the organization should invest in training, consulting services or resources to ensure that the project will be successful1. Is it actually a process where work moves between people and systems? Can you draw the process as a flowchart?3. What are the main goals for automating this process? Does the requirement “fit” the benefits of BPA and BPM? What are the driving forces behind the requirement and do they apply to any of the main BPM benefits of Control, Visibility, Adaptability, Conformance and Compliance, Cost and Risk Reduction?4. How does the solution fit into the bigger picture and overall strategy and vision for the organization? Understand the relative level of importance of the solution to the business to get an idea of the expected level of support, investment and commitment to the project5.
