He/she delegates by default Much discretion & decision making Authority to the employees. The Supervisor gives little direction & Allows employees extensive levels of Freedom.Highly motivated employees Such as staff technical specialists & in some instances, consultants.Kinds of Power 权力的种类 Personal Power 个人权力 Youve earned their respect and they approve of you as a person.你赢得了他们的尊重:他们赞赏你的人格。They admire your superior skills, special knowledge, or ability.他们欣赏您高超的技能、专业知识或特殊技能。 Positional Power 职位权力 They recognize your position in the organization.他们承认您在企业中的位置。They expect to be rewarded with a pay raise, promotion, praise, complimentary letter, etc.他们期望获得加薪、升职、表扬、感谢信,等等。They do not want to be criticized, fired, or demoted. 他们不希望受到批评、解雇或降职。They know you have contacts or friends who can be of benefit to them later.他们知道您有一些关系或朋友,今后可能对他们有好处。Varying Your Leadership Style变 换 您 的 领 导 方 式Varying your leadership style means there is no single best style for every situation. 变换您的领导方式就是说,没有哪一种方式是适用于所有场合的。The proper leadership style depends on the situation.运用恰如其分的领导方式,取决于具体的场合。Three other factors influence the leadership style you use.有3种因素影响领导方式的选择:1 Your personal background 您的个人背景2 The employees being supervised 您所主管的员工3 Your property 您所在的酒店Assertiveness果 断 性Supervisors who are assertive are direct, honest, and respectful as they deal with others. They: 果断的主管在人际交往中直截了当、诚恳又不失礼貌。他们:Are better leaders 是高人一筹的领导。Handle criticism effectively 能有效地面对批评。Say “ no” without feeling guilty 不怯于说“不”。Know how to delegate 知道如何下放权力。Sell their ideas to their bosses and employees 向他们的上司和员工宣传自己的想法。Gain respect 受人尊敬。Handle putdowns 能对付不敬的举动。The Passive Personality被 动 型 性 格Passive supervisors often appear to have no control over events, so they accept whatever happens.
