The Important Holiday in England,Fish Jasmine April Crazy,England,Bonfire Night / Guy Fawkes Night (烟花节) Time: November 5th,What is it? On 5 November people across the UK celebrate fireworks night. It marks the anniversary of a failed attempt to blow up Parliament. There are small fireworks parties in back gardens and also big organised displays. Bonfires are lit to burn the “Guy“. This is a dummy that represents Guy Fawkes,Who was Guy Fawkes? Guy (Guido) Fawkes led the Gunpowder plot in 1605. It was a plan was to blow up King James I and his government. Guido and his group put 36 barrels of gunpowder in cellars under the Houses of Parliament. They got ready to set off a massive explosion. One member of the group sent a letter to his friend in Parliament. He warned him to stay away on 5 Nov. The Kings supporters got hold of the letter and the plot was rumbled. Guards broke into the cellars where the gunpowder plotters were waiting. They were arrested, tortured and executed.,Marching season(行军季节) Time :July 12th St Patricks day Time: March 17,Northern Ireland,Saint Patricks Day St. Patricks Day, colloquially St. Paddys Day or Paddys Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa 385461 AD), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17. The day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Montserrat, and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the rest of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday. It became a feast day in the Roman Catholic Church due to the influence of the Waterford-born Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding in the early part of the 17th century, and is a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland. The date of the feast is occasionally, yet controversially, moved by church authorities when March 17 falls during Holy Week; this happened in 1940 when Saint Patricks Day was observed on April 3 in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and happened again in 2008, having been observed on 14 March. March 17 will not fall during Holy Week again until 2160.,St.Patricks Day St.Patricks Day,圣帕特里克节,为3月17日,以纪念爱尔兰守护神圣帕特里克。 ,Hogmanay Time : January 1thRobert Burns Time : January 25th,Scotland,Hogmanay is the Scots word for the last day of the year and is synonymous with the celebration of the New Year (Gregorian calendar) in the Scottish manner. It is, however, normally only the start of a celebration which lasts through the night until the morning of New Years Day (1 January) or, in some cases, 2 January which is a Scottish Bank Holiday.,Hogmanay,Robert Burns,Robert Burns (25 January 1759 21 July 1796) (also known as Rabbie Burns, Scotlands favourite son, the Ploughman Poet, Robden of Solway Firth, the Bard of Ayrshire and in Scotland as simply The Bard)12 was a Scottish poet and a lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland, and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is also in English and a “light“ Scots dialect, accessible to an audience beyond Scotland. He also wrote in standard English, and in these his political or civil commentary is often at its most blunt. He is regarded as a pioneer of the Romantic movement, and after his death he became a great source of inspiration to the founders of both liberalism and socialism. A cultural icon in Scotland and among the Scottish Diaspora around the world, celebration of his life and work became almost a national charismatic cult during the 19th and 20th centuries, and his influence has long been strong on Scottish literature. In 2009 he was voted by the Scottish public as being the Greatest Scot, through a vote run by Scottish television channel STV. As well as making original compositions, Burns also collected folk songs from across Scotland, often revising or adapting them. His poem (and song) Auld Lang Syne is often sung at Hogmanay (the last day of the year), and Scots Wha Hae served for a long time as an unofficial national anthem of the country. Other poems and songs of Burns that remain well-known across the world today include A Red, Red Rose; A Mans A Man for A That; To a Louse; To a Mouse; The Battle of Sherramuir; Tam o Shanter, and Ae Fond Kiss.,HalloweenTime : October 31th,Scotland,Easter Sunday ,
