HNC HOUSING : SUPPORTED HOUSING (Part time)We warmly welcome you to the Centre for Applied Social Science at UWIC. We are glad that you have chosen to study at UWIC and look forward to meeting you. There are currently four core course team members who are responsible for the development and delivery of housing studies at UWIC. If you have any queries about enrolment and induction please give Claire a call.Over the following weeks, you will be sent lots of information from UWIC. Please make sure that you read all information carefully and respond to any requests.You are requested to attend the Housing Enrolment and Induction event in September at UWIC. This is frequently a pre-requisite to gaining employment in the relevant field following graduation. We are extremely proud of our record of employability for our graduates, which is very high and many of our students go on to study for higher degrees. With the increased expense of undertaking higher education, the fact that our programmes provide excellent employability in the field you choose to study, may help to reassure you that it is worth studying for a degree.I hope that your personal experience of being a student in our School is a good one and that you will enjoy your time with us as well as gaining valuable qualifications for the future.It is also important that students feel able to make a contribution to the work of the School and its continuing development. This booklet will give you preliminary information on the programme on which you intend enrolling. There has recently been 4.9m investment in unrivalled facilities for food technology, nutrition, biomedical science and environmental research. The Sports Biomedicine and Nutrition Degree is jointly delivered by the Cardiff School of Health Sciences and the Cardiff School of Sport and the sport-based modules are delivered at the Cyncoed Campus. All students in the School have access to the excellent sporting facilities at the Cyncoed Campus, which houses the National Indoor Athletics Stadium. The award winning UWIC Rider bus runs a regular service across all campuses and into the city centre.The School programmes are primarily focused at BSc and MSc level, many of which offer both an academic and professional qualification. There are also two foundation degree programmes and a number of Higher Certificates and Diplomas validated by BTEC/EDEXCEL available in the School. The School has over 50 PhD studen
