Awards will be presented to all key persons involved in a selected partnership.WHO IS ELIGIBLE?Partnership awards must recognize the collaboration between two or more entities that include both of the following: 1) an institution that IS responsible for career/technical education programs or services and, (2) institutions, agencies, businesses, or industries that are NOT responsible for career/technical education programs or services. The recognition is awarded for collaboration, support, and promotion of career and technical education.NOTE: Efforts that provide accessibility services and/or scholarships should be nominated through the Guidance/Personnel Services category. Traditional internships and cooperative worksites should be recognized through the Program category. Review the selection criteria to determine if you have a true partnership.Any partnership receiving an award in the past five (5) years is ineligible to be nominated.WHO MAY INITIATE A NOMINATION?Anyone associated with an approved career and technical education program or service.HOW ARE NOMINATIONS MADE?Complete the appropriate awards category nomination packet and submit prior to the deadline.HOW WILL THE AWARDEES BE SELECTED?All nominations will be reviewed and rated by a selection committee made up of volunteers representing business, industry, state agencies and education. The committee recommends partnership awardees to the Awards for Excellence Management Team for consideration.WHAT CRITERIA WILL BE USED BY THE SELECTION COMMITTEE?The Selection Committee will recommend partnership awardees on the following criteria:v The number of entities involved in the partnership. (10 points maximum) Maximum points will be awarded to partnerships involving three or more entities.v The partnership expands and/or exemplifies career and technical education. (15 points maximum)v Outcomes for the partnership are clearly defined. (10 points maximum)v The partnership clearly identifies joint management and decision-making. (15 points maximum) v All partners identified benefit from this partnership. (10 points maximum)v The partnership is innovative and/or unique. (20 points maximum)v The overall value of the partnership to students, programs, and/or career and technical education. (20 points maximum)WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS?Completed nomination packets must be postmarked no later than November 16, 2012 to be eligible for the 2012-13 Awards for Excellence. To insure delivery of your package, you may want to send the nomination packet “certified mail, return receipt requested.”WHEN WILL THE AWARDS BE GIVEN?A ceremony will be held in Indianapolis in March, 2013.
