With the strengthening of the reform and opening-up policy and the extensification of international exchanges, more and more people have realized the importance of training our children to learn English. At a stage of eager to learn and want to learn, children have the intrinsic ability of accepting new things quickly and correctly.With the help of pictures, objects and body language, teachers can adopt a way of using all-English teaching method, thus creating an all-English learning environment for the students to get a good command of English naturally. This paper aims to explore the possibilities and significance of using all-English teaching method for child-learners and at the same time introduce some effective ways of using all-English teaching method to help the children build a solid foundation for their future study of English .Key words: English teaching child-learners all-English teaching 内容摘要一块洁白的玉,能否成为高贵耀目的工艺品,离不开能工巧匠的雕作。幼儿学习英语能否有成效,离不开教学方法的魅力。在当前改革开放逐步深化,国际交流日益广泛的大好形势下,越来越多的人意识到培训幼儿学习外语的重要性; 幼儿已具备用母语表达的初步能力,存在有意识求学,好学的雏形,对接受外界新事物有敏捷而易学的本能;幼儿头脑的知识面单纯,如同一张白纸,对接受外界新事物具有准确而恰当反映的本能;幼儿心理好奇心强,学习英语时采用全英文授课方式配以图片、实物、行体动作等引导,创造纯英文学习环境,可使其顺其自然的学好英语。本文旨在讨论幼儿英语教学中全英授课方法的可行性及其重要意义,以及作为一名幼儿英语教师应如何在课堂中更加有效的应用全英授课方法为幼儿以后继续学英语开创良好条件,建立良好基础。关键词: 英语教学 全英授课 初学者Introduction Language teaching can be defined as the activities which are intended to bring about language learning (Stern,1983:21). Foreign language teaching is a systematic effort by a teacher to induce the learning of a different language or languages. Foreign language learning refers to the development of foreign language competence resulting from instruction. This involves a long-term learning task, not just something that can be done in a few days or weeks. It is a difficult endeavor. A childs process of learningis different from that of an adults. As we all know children can speak their mother tongue without much of learning and they can construct the structures of their L1through using the language in their normal day to day lives . Are there any similarities in childrens learning of L1 and L2? If so, how should we operate the class in accordance with these similarities? Can we give our child-learners an all-English learning environment to make them acquire the language more naturally? And what are teachers supposed to avoid in using all-English teaching method for child-learners? These questions will be discussed and answered in this paper. 1 The possibilities of using all English teaching method for child-learners With the globalization of our society, more and more people are now learning English, among which, child-learners take up a significant percentage. Some people believe that the main task for our children is to get a good command of their mother tongue. They claim that children do not have the ability to learn a foreign language. But long-term studies and surveys have shown that individuals who start learning a second language as children ultimately reach a higher level of L2 proficiency. With the intrinsic ability of accepting new things quickly and correctly, children can, like learning their mother tongue, master English naturally. So, as teachers, is it possible for us to create an all-English learning environment by using all-English teaching method to ensure our children to learn the language more effectively? We may get a clear understanding of the possibilities of using all-English teaching method for child-learners from the following aspects.1.1 Age According to our experience and intuition
