Although CNC is a historical core of computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM), the power of the microprocessor is used in every aspect of the manufacturing process. A CIM system unifies business, engineering, process planning, inventory, manufacturing, and postproduction. A CIM system is like an orchestra. Each component duty must work with the others through a single database, central software, and an open communications network. Each task is an independent process that must work with all others. Just-in-time is a way of operating such that all unnecessary waste and invaluable elements are eliminated. 成组技术是一种减少不必要的重复性工作的系统。 准时制造是一种革除所有不必要的浪费以及没有价值的环节的操作方法。,Text,14.2 Flexible Manufacturing System A flexible machining system is a system of CNC machines, robots, and part transfer vehicles that can take a part form raw stock or casting and perform all necessary machining, part handling, and inspection operations to make a finished part or assembly. (Figure 14-1) It is an entire unmanned, software-based, manufacturing/assembly line. 14.2柔性制造系统 柔性制造系统(FMS)是CNC机床、机器人、工件传输装置的集成系统,该系统能从毛坯件或铸件开始,完成所有必须的加工,工件处理与检测,最终形成一个工件或组件成品。它完全是一个基于软件的全自动无人生产装配线。柔性制造系统由四个主要部分组成:CNC数控机床、工件装配机器人、工件/刀具传输装置。,Text,FMS is capable of round-the-clock production with little, if any, wasted time and less human intervention.Efficient use of FMS can reduce costs in two ways. They can reduce costs through more efficient part production and through lower labor costs.
