I have been ready to begin this presentation with five parts,analysis of the teaching material, the teaching aims, the important and difficult points, the teaching methods, and the teaching procedure. Part 1 Teaching Material The content of my lesson is module 4 in New Standard English Book 2. This module is about the great scientists. By studying of this unit, well enable students to know more about and the films reviews and develope a critical view about things. At the same time, let the students found an ambition to contribute to our nation and to help with their study. Reading and vocabulary is the second part of this module (the first is introduction) and we can see that reading plays an important role in English teaching.Part 2 Teaching Aims According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings:1. Language knowledge aims:Learn the following words and sentence patterns: Words:physics, biology, biochemistry, agriculture, zoology, botany, genetics Useful phrases: the way to the key to the solution to the entrance to2. Language ability aims:Theoretical basis: High school English curriculum standards emphasize the ability to acquire and process information in English1). Can get the main information from the article and extract the main points 2). Can understand the subject of the article, the authors intention3). Can extract, filter and reorganize the information in the article 4). Can use the context to guess new words(1)Learn to read with some reading strategies(2) Improve students integrated abilities of speaking and reading(3)Learn to introduce a natural disaster.3. Learning strategy aims: Vocabulary classificationEffective self-regulation during reading, English interaction, and task completion. Obtain relevant information through various channels, identify and apply effective resources.To get the students learn more about great scientists4. Cultural awareness and emotional attitude:Try to raise the cooperation awareness in their students by pair work or group work. Try to raise the students to love science, and contribute to our nation when they graduate.Part 3 the Important and Difficult PointsBased on the requirement of the syllabus,The important points: 1) Encourage the students to know more about science and make a foundation in their future study. 2) Help the ss make sense of the passage. The difficult points are:Lead the ss to talk in class actively. Deal with some difficult language points. Part 4 Teaching Methods As is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help Ss develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching aims, (after the analysis of the teaching material and teaching aims,) I will use the following methods according to the modern social communication teaching theories . Communicative ApproachWhole Language TeachingTask-based Language Teaching Total Situational Action a “scene activity” teaching method , it establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the Ss. At the same time, CAI can provide a real situation with its sound and picture, it can develop the Ss creativity in learning English.Part 5 Teaching ProcedureStep 1. Introduction. (10mins) 1.DiscussionThe teacher shows pictures of great scientists from home and abroad and asks Ss to answer the following questions.(1). What is his/her name?(2). Match the words and definitionsbiochemistry biology botany chemistry genetics physics zoologyPurpose of my design:fasten basis.4.The teacher shows some pictures of Yuan Long ping and lead the tile the students who asked questions.5. Look at the title of the reading passage. Guess what it is about. Listen to the passage and check out what it is about on earth. Put the ss into 9 groups (one line in one group), each group have a chance to answer one question and when one gives a wrong answer, the others can answer , get extra one points.If you are right I will give your group a mark of 10.
