It is veryimportant for the top leaders of enterprises to advocate and promote the ECR model,lacking the enthusiasm and determination of the top leaders of enterprises. Firstly, all parties in the supply chain should reexaminetheir workflow and economic activities in the interests of consumers. This application of POS, EOS,EDI, EFT, BC (commodity bar code), INTF, RNET/INTRANET and e-commerceinformation technology to support process reengineering. The application of ECR caneffectively reduce the cost of supply chain and improve the competitiveness ofenterprises. In a study, KSA estimated that ECR could reduce costs by 11%. Amongthe total cost savings in supply chain, the manufacturers cost savings account for 54%,of which 47% comes from direct cost savings of 7.9%. From the savings of financialcost. The cost savings of distributors accounted for 46%, of which 32% came fromdirect cost savings and 14% from financial cost savings.Comparison of QR and ECRa. Differences between QR and ECRThe emphasis of application is different. The aim of implementing ECR is efficiencyand cost, while the focus of implementing OR is the speed of replenishment andordering. The aim is to eliminate the shortage to the greatest extent, and to purchaseonly when there is demand for goods.b. Common characteristics of QR and ECR(1) To cope with the challenges of changing market competition environment;(2) Resolve the bad relationship between suppliers and distributors and establishsupply chain partnership;(3) Pursue the common goal of improving efficiency and providing consumers withthe goods they really want at the lowest total cost.(4) Common strategyBoth QR and ECR attach importance to the core business of the supply chain andredesign the business to eliminate the waste of resources.Variety management. This business determines what goods each store should selland how they should be displayed and sold.Product development. This business refers to the development and importation ofproducts that better meet customer needs.Promotion. This business communicates the goods*spot status and value to customers,c. Common errorsOR and ECR are often mistaken for technical strategies. Although technologyplays a very important role in the implementation of the strategy, it can not guaranteethe realization of the strategy itself. Retailers and manufacturers can succeed onlywhen information flows quickly, accurately and timely throughout the system,coupled with effective operations in marketing, merchandise purchasing and selling,in-store operations and logistics.OR and ECR are often mistaken for technical strategies.
