(10 points)In winter, I often walk in a nearby park during lunch time. The park is 1 , as few people have the time to enjoy the winter sun on a weekday. The two people that are often seen are a middle-aged father and his little daughter 2 her school uniform. The father looks like he has all the time in the worldhe 3 to hurry along the jogging path; instead he matches his pace with 4 of the little girl. Sometimes they are lying 5 in the sun, laughing and chatting. The man certainly doesnt look 6 . What sort of job can he have that gives him the flexibility to walk in the park in the middle of the dayAnd today, we 7 sat on the rocks and had a little chat. “You must enjoy the park very much to come here so often,” I said. The father nodded. “How” I asked curiously, “do you 8 to leave your office to be with your daughter every day” The 9 that the father, Satyendra Dugbey, told me showed me how, if we 10 under the surface, even ordinary peoples life can be quite 11 .“I used to be no different from any of those thousands of office workers 12 to work every day,” he began. His wife and he were well 13 but rarely managed time off for leisure.Everything changed after a(n) 14 in which Dugbey was hit by a car. As he lay in hospital, terrifying thoughts came into his mind. “How would my daughter, then only four, remember me if I died that day” “Would my daughter have 15 of being with her father”The moment he recovered and went back to work, Dugbey took time off at lunch, 16 her daughter from school which was just next door to his working place, and took her to the park.It was actually a very small change hed made, he said, but it 17 him every day to see the difference it 18 to his life. “It brings me so much 19 that I cant believe why others havent thought of doing the same thing.” he said simply.I got up to continue my 20 walk, unexpectedly happy after his story.1、Anoisy Bappealing Cquiet Dstill2、Aon Bin Cwith Dunder3、Atends Bintends Cinspires Drefuses4、Ait Bthat Cthis Dthose5、Aheavily Btiredly Clazily Dlonely6、Aunemployed Buntrained Cuntested Dunwanted7、Atruly Bgenerally Centirely Dfinally8、Asucceed Bfail Cmanage Dsuggest9、Anews Bstory Cdata Dphenomenon10、Adig Bpush Cclean Dknock11、Aextraordinary Bcommon Cpeaceful Dreliable12、Ahurrying Bwandering Chesitating Dhating13、Adown Bover Cabove Doff14、Aaffair Baccident Csituation Dsight15、Aassociation Bconsideration Cmisunderstanding Dmemories16、Apicked up Bpicked out Ctook up Dtook out17、Abothered Bpuzzled Cfrighten Damazed18、Atook Bled Cmade Dgot19、Alove Bjoy Crelief Ddepression20、Along-suffering Blong-lost Clong-forgotten Dlong-lastingSection II Reading ComprehensionPart ADirections:Read the following four texts. Answer the questions below each text by choosing A, B, C or D. Mark your answers on the ANSWER SHEET. (40 points)Text 1Some families choose to take expensive vacations, such as to the Grand Canyon. However, my favorite family vacation was different. Nine years ago, my parents created a grand plan to build the home of their dreams in a neighborhood Honeymoon Hill. As the dream was launched smoothly, our family of five squeezed tightly into the vehicle to go there. The old home was gradually turned into the construction management office for the new one. As the new home began to take shape, it siphoned our attention and our primary home became the place where we merely slept. The three of us children worked and became soon-to-be-skilled laborers. I quickly learned that personalities were readily displayed when we painted a wall. Some stuck to their claims, stopping others entering their area. Others systematically painted their wall, working from top to bottom in an organized fashion. And one drew smiley faces and signed his name there.Of course, the journey didnt come without a few lessons learned. I came to understand that paint would never be removed from a rag, however many times I washed it. We learned other important lessons when my dad attempted to shingle(盖) a roof in the air: safety is indeed important, and sometimes money is well spent in the hiring of a professional.A Mothers Day dinner served on a temporary table could actually taste far better at the end of a long days work than the everyday meals we remembered back at the old home. Most importantly, I learned my family can forgive each others barks in close quarters. This
