Game: find out the letters.T:Hello!Boys and girls!Ss: Hello! MissT: Last lesson we have learned the letters Ii-Rr. Do you remember them?Ss: Yes!T: I think you are great! Lets have a try!Teacher shows the letters ,get the students to call out the letters they see. 3.Group workStudents prepare in groups four, draw some pictures or diagram, get the others to guess what letters they are.Step 2 PresentationT:Look ! I have a key. K-E-Y /ki:/Ss: Key. K-E-Y /ki:/T: Good! This is a key of my room. There are many things in my room. Do you want to know what things in my room?Ss: Yes!T: Thank you! Lets go!Teacher shows some pictuers get the students to call out the things they see.Using the pictures to teach new words: map, key, pen, ruler, quilt, jacket and orange. Step 3 GameTeacher shows the picture very quickly get the students to call out the picture they see.Step4 Listening houseT: Great ! We knew these things in my room. Please open your books to page 9.Lets listen and number the pictures 1-7.Play the tape twice. (Section A 4a)T: How many words can you remember? Lets listen the tape again and complete the words under the pictures. (Section B 4b)Step 5 A Guessing game. Whats the word?1. Teacher thinks of a word that the Ss know. Draw a dash on the Bb for each letter. Get a student to suggest a letter. Then another student and another letter until they get all the letters of the words.2. Show the picture which match the word and ask: Whats this in English?Ss: “ Its a / an ” T: Spell it, please. -Step 6 Listening (Section B 1a & 1b)1. Ask Ss open their books on page 10. Play the tape ,let Ss listen and read after it.2. Listen to the conversations and number the words they hear.3. Then get individuals to give their own words.Steps 7 Group workStudents work in groups, draw pictures of their rooms and talk about the pictures using “Whats this in English? Its a/an”Teacher is ready to offer his / her help to those students who are in need of it.Step8 ReportAsk some demonstration groups to show their pictures before the whole class.
