By showing a moderate opinion on ones own abilities or talents, one would be seen as humble and polite in the past. However, this virtue has received much doubt in modern society. In the world where everything changes so fast, many people believe if one did not show his or her own talents actively, others would not bother to dig them out. So in school, students are encouraged to speak out their own opinions, and during job interviews, job hunters have to present what they are capable of doing. Even in advertisements, we can hear frequently We are the No. 1. In my minds eye, though modesty may not be applied as widely in todays society, it is a quality that one should cherish. With true modesty, one can realize his or her own strengths and weaknesses, and make greater achievements in future life.
