I Like Music That I Can Dance ToTeaching Plan of UNIT 6,Grade 9BreezeUnit 6 I like the music that I can dance to The contents of this unit is closely related to our daily life.The topic is to talk about our favourite musics, in which way the students can be easily leaded to communicate in simple English. Analyzation of the students: As students of ninth grade ,they have learned English for at least three years,they have stored a certain mount knowledge of English . But most of them come from downtown,and some students have difficulty in communicating in English as a result of having few chances to use English. For this reason,the teacher should try to leave more time for them to practice. Besides, those active students should be use as models for the others in teaching progress. Teaching Objectives 1Knowledge and skills(1)acquiring the key words of this unit and to master attributive clauses leaded by who,that,which ,etc. (2)being able to make simple conversations with the key words and sentences learned in this unit.(3)being able to use key words and sentences learned in this unit to express themselves,and to perform actives of listening ,reading and writing in English. 2Procedure and methods of teaching(1)multimedia:application of multimedia in teaching combine pictures ,listening and words into one,making teaching more vivid and interesting,so students may learn in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere.(2)students-centered teaching applies individual work and pair work in the progress to promote self-learning, cooperation and interaction among the students. So their abilities to listen ,speak ,read and write may get improved.(3) making full use of TBLT,develop the students ability to use language.3Emotion ,attitude and values(1)to improve their artistic appreciation in the progress of enjoying various music so as to help then build optimistic outlook of life.(2)to get their cooperative consciousness strengthen during the progress of practicing and completing the task.The key and the difficult teaching points:(1)key words:prefer, lyric, gentle ,musician, have great lyrics, sing along with, dance to, different kinds of music, quiet and gentle songs, write ones own music.(2)key sentence pattern:what kind of music do you like?I like music that i can sing along with.I prefer music that has great lyrics.I love musicians who write their own music.Difficult teaching points:(1) attributive clauses leaded by that and who(2)to develop students abilities to swift from language input to language out. .Teaching procedureStep1:review and introduction(1) a short of review of whats taught in last class by practicing writing sentences with must,may/might etc. Besides,the picture and the sentences are connected to music ,by which the topic can b transformed to the new lesson.(2) show them a picture which contains jazz ,rock ,classic music ,pop music and dance music ,following which about five groups of practicing sentences-making are provided .(3) A short list of the sentences made be showed to the students, read themDesign idea:review in time the knowledge learned before,and introduction to new lesson.Step2:1a show the pictures and the sentence of 1a . read the sentences and ask students to repeat.Design idea :practice the input and output of language(1)ask a student to make conversation with the teacher(2)ask students to make the similar conversation with their partner using the helpful praises.Step3:1b listening practice(1)ask students to listen to the tape and finish 1b(2)check the answers(3)show the listening passage and ask students to listen to the tape again (4)show the listening content of 2a with some blanks of 2b and ask students to listen to tapes and fill in the blanks(5)play the tapes for 3 times and ask some students to write their answers on the blackboard(6)check the answersDesign idea: developing students abilities to listen,to use language and developing their language skills levelsStep4:1c pairwork(1)show the conversations of the textbook ,invite one to two groups of students to play them (2)Three pictures with three exercises on each of them.Let the students try to complete the sentences in the sentence pattern learned Design idea: more practice to make sure they understand and be able to use the new knowledge ,also to leave more chances for students to speak and to practice thinking in English. Step5 a game of guessingRule of the game:one student uses attributive clauses to describe one of the teachers or their classmates. A example will be showed to them on the PPT.Step6 summary and homeworkMaking a sum(1) examples are the sentences made in the progress just before(2) Antecedent,relative pronoun, attributive clause,explain in detail(3) sum up the structures
