The Introduction of Jiuquan Senior High School一、 The history of the schoolJiuquan Senior High School was established in September,1935, hereinafter referred to as “Suzhou branch school of the central political school”. Chiang Kai-shek was headmaster. The school was renamed “Management of Convergence in board Hexi school” in September,1939. In November,1945,the ministry of education Yuan Guomin took over the school and it was renamed “National Hexi Middle School”. In March,1950,the three schools, including Hexi Middle School, Suzhou Normal School, Jiuquan Normal School, were amalgamated into Jiuquan joint school. In April, the school was officially renamed Jiuquan Senior High School of Gan Su Province. It was evaluated the key school before 2000. And in 2000, the school was chosen as one of the top model senior high schools in Gansu province. In 1999,the school was honored with the advanced unit of National ideological civilization construction and in 2005 it was honored with National civilized unit. Chairman Zhu De, Ye Jianying Marshal, General Secretary Hu Yaobang and other state leaders had visited Jiuquan Senior High School , and encouraged students.二、 The situation of the schoolThe school covers over 168 acres, 60% of which is green space. It compromised classical gardens and modern architecture. The school has beautiful environment, advanced first-class teaching facilities, and modern library. Collection of books reach 140,000. The school has built a fully assembled projection equipment, teaching complex, 400-metre-wide runway plastic stadium of international standards, computer networks, multimedia classrooms, multi-purpose lecture hall and other teaching facilities, as well as for all teachers with laptops. Existing staff is 227 people, including 2 class teachers, senior teachers in 40, and secondary teachers in 53.And there are 27 teachers in the English Teaching and Research Group. We have invited 3 foreign teachers to come to the school. And they are mainly responsible for teacher training , for stimulating the students interest of learning English and for raising ability. The school has formal standardized management experience and has achieved good results. At the same time the school provides apartments for foreign teachers. As for three meals, the foreign teachers can eat meals by themselves or demand the arrangement of the school. And the foreign teachers share the same office with the English teachers. At last, the school provides one English teacher to per foreign teacher as assistant in life and communication.五、 The teaching tasks of the foreign teachers （Grade 1 and Grade 2）1.
