_The Scarlet Letter-Salvation in Darkness The Scarlet Letter is a novel written by the American romantic writer Nathaniel Hawthorne in the 19th century. It is not only the American romantic fiction masterpiece, but also known as the American psychological analysis novel set article. The novel mainly tells a love tragedy happened in 17th century Puritan Boston, Massachusetts during the years 1642 to 1649. The heroine Hester Prynne was married to Doctor Chilling Worth, but there was no love between them. The role of Hester Prynne impressed me a lot with all the virtues she has when I first read this story. Deep I her heart, Prynne was definitely an independent woman, strongly seek for love and freedom. Hence, she broke the chains of marriage and had baby with the man she lovedPriest Dimmesdale. She was also brave and loyal, suffered all the cruel things, she could still hold the fidelity to love and never betrayed her lover. Furthermore, what made her special indeed was the glory of humanity in her. She was the salvation of the hypocritical priest and even her twisted husband, her characteristic influenced the society full of darkness. Hester Prynne taught me more than being kind and determined. She chose to carry that “A” letter for a whole lifetime and never forget her sin, grief and regret. As a unique role in the river of literal, she would stand long and forever.
