Affection and attitudes: We should love our country.Learning strategies:Bottom up approach and listening to the tape and do some exercises.Teaching Aids: Multi-Media (Tape recorder, video, OHP, handout)Teaching Procedures:Part I: Warming-up Directions: Step one: Talk about the photos with the students. (1).Ask them to look at the photos on the screen and guess who she is. (2).After they have answers, ask “What is she doing in the phones?” The students answer again.Step two: Talk about “Where do you like to go when you have time off?”Do you like to go to the park?Write down as many words related to park as you can. Such as:take photos flowers trees beautiful quiet bridge lake climb up the hill walk have a picnic Part II: Lead in: Task 1: Introduce to them Beihai Park.Directions:Step one: Ask the students to talk about the pictures on the screen. Step two: Collect some descriptions in a whole- class setting. Step three: Pair the Ss to discuss what else they know about Beihai Park.Step four. The teacher can show them the video abut Beihai Park.Step five: Elicit their Chinese names from the Ss. and write them on the blackboard.Task 2 : Introduce to them the new words .Step one: Read through the new words and phrases and have the Ss. repeat them after you chorally and individually.Step two: Then have them read the words and phrases together for three times. Step three: Listen and answer the question in Activity 1.Part III: Listening Task 1:. To understand conversations about Beihai Park.Directions:Step one: Let the Ss read through the questions in Activity 2. Make sure the Ss. understand the questions. Step two: Play the recording and have them listen.Step three: Play the recording again and have them write the answers individually.Step four: Play the recording and have them check their answer with a partner.Step five: Call back the answer from the whole class.Task 2: Activity 3.Directions:Step one: Lingling is taking her friends Tony and Daming to Beihai Park.Listen to the dialogue and answer the following questions.1. Who is introducing Beihai Park?2. What is the park famous for?Step two: Play the recording and make them answer the questions. And have them check their answers.Step two: Play the recording again .Have them check their answers with a partner Step three: Call back the answer in a whole- class setting.Task 3: Reading. Directions:Step one: Ask the Ss. to read the conversation and complete the sentences about Beihai Park. (P 65)Step two: Have the students answer together and check. Step three: Now go over the conversation with the students. And find out the important and difficult phrases and sentences for the students. At the same time the teacher explains them.1. Its so quiet here that I can even hear the birds singing!2. I can hardly believe weve in the city centre.3. I hope it will be cooler up there.Step four: Put the Ss. into groups of 3 to practise the dialogue. They should repeat it several times, then have some groups read the conversation in the class. Part . IV : Talking. Work in pairs.
