Part Four TEACHING PROCEDUREThis is a review lesson. Ill finish it in five steps.Step 1 ReviewShow some pictures to the students. ( A dialog between T and Ss.)T: What are they?Ss: They are animals.T: Many people choose them as pets. Do you keep pets?Ss; Yes, I do.T: Whats your pet? Ss: Its a cat.T: Why do you like it?Ss: Step 2 Presentation1. Work in groups. Look at the pictures. Have a discussion about pets. Make up a dialog to describe one of them by using the words in 1b. Finish 1 b.2. Finish 1aCheer on the Ss. Then show another picture of a dogby asking : T: What animals is this? (T points at the pictures pig. ) Ss: Its a pig. T: Do you usually choose a pig as your pet?Ss: Yes. /No.T: Some people especially in foreign countries usually keep pigs as their pets.Ask the Ss to listen to 1a and fill in the blanks. Finish 1 a.3. Practice the oral-English After finishing 1a, let the Ss introduce their favorite pets. (They can prepare for 2 minutes) Then choose some students to introduce in front of the class.(This course can train Ssability of speaking. It can improve Ss oral English.)Step 3 Consolidation1. I can tell the Ss something about my hobbies in the past and at present .For example: Keeping pets is my hobby now. Its very interesting. But I used to like collecting stamps. Because I can learn a lot about people, places, history and special moments from stamps.2. Let the students answer the questions. a. What hobbies did you use to have? Why?b. What hobbies do you have now? Why?3. Check over the questions. Ask them to write a short passage titledMy hobbies Step 4 Drill1. Go over the key grammar in the whole unit.a.
