Business correspondence, as one of the most important means for international communication, has to face this influence. This article firstly gives a detailed introduction of culture and cultural differences, then it points out the culture elements in business correspondence and analyzes what kind of cultural differences we can find in business correspondence and the great influence they have brought to business correspondence writing. At last it gives out the causes of cultural differences and some countermeasures to cope with the influence of cultural differences when writing business correspondence so as to achieve accurate and effective communication.Key words Cultural differences; Business correspondence writing; Influence; Countermeasures浅谈文化差异对商务信函写作的影响【内容摘要】近些年来，文化差异的对国际贸易的影响越发地突显，商务信函作 为国际商务往来的重要途径，也不可避免地必须面对文化差异带来的影响。本文 通过分析文化和文化差异的具体概念，指出商务信函中的种种文化因素，阐述商 务信函中的具体文化差异及其对商务信函写作带来的巨大影响，并指出造成这些 影响的具体原因，从而尝试着提出了在进行商务信函写作的过程中应对文化差异 影响的几项措施，以便达到准确有效的交流。【关键词】文化差异；商务信函写作；影响;措施I. Introduction1.1 Background and Objective of the ResearchInternational trade has existed throughout much of history, and its economic, social and political importance has been on the rise in recent centuries. Industrialization, advanced transportation, globalization, multinational corporations and outsourcing are all major reasons. Given that international trade is based on trust, commitment, and cooperation, it is significant for people who are engaged in international business to have an accurate understanding of their partners. While each countrys cultural environment and value differ from others, it is apparent that the knowledge of the influence of cultural differences is one of the keys to international business success when working in the global commercial environment.At the same time, business correspondence has become an important part of international communication. To communicate effectively and precisely, understanding the cultural differences is very necessary. As a result, under the background of cultural differences, how to write successful business correspondence has drew more and more scholars attention. In “Cultural Differences Displayed in Business Letters” (Jiang Bingyan, 2003) , the author assumes that the Six Cs Principle ,that is completeness, correctness, concreteness, conciseness, courtesy, and constructiveness, must be observed in business writing both in Chinese and English. However, the ways to do so are not always the same because of the cultural differences. It ends with a conclusion that the strict implementation of the Six Cs Principle in business letter writing depends on the understanding of the culture of the applied language
