(SEDL) is a joint venture production base for fully digital controlled AC and DC drives and motors owned by Siemens Ltd., China and its Chinese partners which are BENEFO and TRIED. SEDL was set up at the beginning of 1995, registered in Tianjin High-Tech Park.Based on the state-of-the-art technology provided by Siemens Germany, SEDL manufactures drives, motors and generators of the same functionality, design and quality as the Siemens factories in Europe and America. From the beginning of 1996 till now, we have been producing the digital AC & DC drives, traction converters, traction motors, industry motors and generators in our three workshops. A big step has been spanned to the goal that being the No.1 drives manufacturer in Asia-Pacific. Now hundreds of thousands of SEDL products have been used by domestic & overseas customers, such like in the fields of metallurgy, steel, mine, petroleum chemicals, heavy-lifting, elevator, paper, textile, railway transports and wind power.On March 9th, 2005, Siemens announced a major investment of up to 550 million RMB to build SEDLs new factory. The goal is to develop SEDL in Tianjin into a global factory for motors, drives and generators that serves the Asia-Pacific market.
